Willie L. Brown, Jr. Bridge - we like the sound of it. 500 of the Bay Area’s finest gathered at Treasure Island to honor the man still known to some as “Da Mayor,” and bear witness to the ceremony surrounding the naming of the bridge. Besides the main attraction, the cast included journalist Belva Davis; Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom; Assemblyman Isadore Hall, D-Compton; scholar Clarence Jones (former counsel to Martin Luther King Jr.) and the Pacific Boychoir Academy.

All this dead smack in the middle of Black History Month. Classic Willie. Well done, as usual.
