Professional Background: Thomas is an actor, director, producer, writer, founder and artistic director of the AfroSolo Theatre Company. He uses the arts to educate, uplift and inspire. For the past twenty-one years Mr. Simpson has produced the award winning and critically acclaimed AfroSolo Arts Festival in San Francisco, featuring hundreds artists.
What achievement or position are you most known for? Producing the annual AfroSolo Arts Festival to nurture, promote, and present Black art and culture through solo performances and the visual and literary arts.

Job(s) held that is most unlike what I currently do now: II had great job as a counselor for youth going through difficult times. In addition to the class work we camped, backpacked, explored caves, etc.

What it does and what I do: I am the founder and artistic director of the AfroSolo Theatre Company. We use theatre, dance, music, poetry, etc. to explore the Black experience.
Current Big Project: The annual three to four month long AfroSolo Arts Festival where we host a concert, a visual arts exhibit, present solo performances among other activities.
Staffing/Resource Needs: We have a bare bone staff and count on interns and volunteer to help create and execute our artistic magic. Come join us!

Significant Challenge: The most significant challenge for me is trying to fulfill all the goals that I set for myself. I want to do everything, right now.
Significant Mistake/Regret: Not setting limits and trying to do to much.

Biggest Strength(s): I have a collaborative spirit that helps me work well with a wide range of people.
Biggest Weakness(es): Have trouble saying “no”.

Significant Challenge: Like lots of things, hard to make choices. Sometimes I eat too much.
