Significant Challenge: Being raised in the segregated south by my widowed mother who struggled to make ends meet.
Significant Accomplishment: Awards named after me – The Regina Stanback Stroud Diversity Award (Academic Senate for California Community Colleges) and the Regina Stroud Leadership Award (WRCBAA).
Life Advice: Be aware of your own privilege, use your position of consequence and influence to do something for something or someone bigger than your own self.
Trait(s) most admired in others: Integrity, dignity, loyalty, curiosity, humor, kindness, happiness.
Among several global issues of deep concern, one(s) that stands out to me: Poverty – there is enough food on this planet for everyone to have enough to eat. There is not enough political will to make it so.
