And Justice For All, hosted by nationally recognized civil rights attorney John Burris, was held on Thursday, April 28 at Impact Hub Oakland. The event, organized by theREGISTRY Bay Area, was the launch of The Forum, a monthly series of engaging conversations surrounding topics and issues impacting Bay Area lifestyle. Inspiring and provocative influencers and experts are invited to participate in open and frank discussions. Guests range from artists, entrepreneurs, and futurists to business leaders, tech pioneers and elected officials.
Burris moderated a discussion among legal experts Otis Bruce, Jr. (Senior Deputy District Attorney, Marin County), Paul Henderson (Deputy Chief of Staff, Public Safety for San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee), Scott Jackson (Law Professor, Director of the Litigation Center, Golden Gate University) and Jennifer Madden (Assistant District Attorney, Alameda County).
Timing is everything, and in this election year, these four impressive individuals are also candidates for four different Bay Area Superior Court Judicial seats – Bruce (Marin County), Henderson (San Francisco County), Jackson (Seat 1, Alameda County) and Madden (Seat 2, Alameda County).
And Justice For All, not coincidentally, was well attended by locals and out-of-towners from the legal profession, who were also in the area for the Welcome Reception of the annual California Association of Black Lawyers (CABL) conference, which took place afterwards at the nearby Pican Restaurant (Forum sponsor). The Welcome Reception was hosted by the Charles Houston Bar Association (CHBA) and the Black Women Lawyers of Northern California (BWLNC), both also promotional sponsors of The Forum.
The inaugural Forum scored extremely well among the 200+ attendees, with a Overall Rating of 4.5 out of 5 (excellent).
theREGISTRYBayArea.com thanks all of its supporters and promotional sponsors for the success of its Forum launch and ongoing support: 100 Black Men of the Bay Area • African American Employee Network (AAEN Bay Area) • Black Women Lawyers of Northern California (BWLNC) • #BPN Bay Area • California Association of Black Lawyers • Charles Houston Bar Association (CHBA) • National Coalition of 100 Black Women (Oakland Bay Area Chapter) • Onyx Community Connection • Pican Restaurant • PowerPAC+
