The NorcalMLK Foundation and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco present Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Revelations. Though not required, we encourage everyone to RSVP. Included in the day are the following activities.
FREE ADMISSION
9:30 AM–5:15 PM
Complimentary admission to the exhibition Revelations: Art from the African American South and the permanent collections. Pick up your free ticket from the Admissions desk on the day of the event (one per person). Related programs are also free with no ticket required.

PERFORMANCE
10:30 AM, REPEATING AT 12:30 PM | WILSEY COURT
Enjoy a concert of special gospel music. Ghanaian Master Drummer Pope Flynn opens the day’s events with traditional African rhythms.

GALLERY CONVERSATIONS
10:30 AM REPEATING AT 12:30 PM | WILSEY COURT
Tour Revelations with museum docents and community representatives. At the end, join scholars as they share their connections to the artworks.

ART MAKING
11 AM–3 PM | PIAZZONI MURALS ROOM
Meet comic artist Robert Love. Make your own art inspired by the exhibition with museum teaching artists, Pick up a Revelations Youth Guide before visiting the galleries.

LECTURES
11–11:45 AM | KORET AUDITORIUM
Revelations: Art from the African American South by Sharon Walton Working with little or no formal training, and often employing cast-off objects and unconventional materials, these artists have created visually compelling works that address some of the most profound and persistent issues in American society, including race, class, gender, and religion.

1–2 PM | KORET AUDITORIUM
King and Faith: a Conversation with Dr. Charles H. Long, in partnership with Bloomsbury Publishers.
