Join us for the second play reading of Theatre Makers’ SPEEC Play Reading Series of plays with social, political, economic, and environmental change (SPEEC) themes.
“If We Must Live” by Frank Greenwood is a play based on the real-life events of Monroe, N. C., and Robert F. Williams, the ex-Marine who armed African-Americans there to confront the violence of the Ku Klux Klan. This play has probably not been performed since performances in Los Angeles just before the Watts riots. We researched to find a copy in an archive in Louisiana, so this is a rare opportunity to experience this play in honor of African-American History Month!
Please RSVP so we know how many scripts to print.
