Having one of the most evocative and recognizable voices in American music, GRAMMY-winning singer Aaron Neville is an international ambassador of New Orleans R&B, returning to celebrate his new album on that most auspicious New Orleans holiday, Fat Tuesday. Neville gained national attention with the Wild Tchoupitoulas, a touring Mardi Gras party that helped launch the Neville Brothers band, and has enjoyed a spectacularly successful musical life, both with his siblings and as a solo artist. Over his career, Neville has scored a string of hits including 1967’s “Tell It Like It Is,” the GRAMMY-winning duets with Linda Ronstadt on “Don’t Know Much” and “All My Life,” and a hugely popular cover of Main Ingredient’s “Everybody Plays the Fool.” Following his 2005 holiday album Christmas Prayer, 2006’s soul music salute Bring It on Home, and 2010’s gospel release I Know I’ve Been Changed, Neville returns with music from his new Blue Note session, My True Story, a majestic collection of doo wop classics produced by the Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards and Blue Note label head Don Was. Join us as one of New Orleans’ favorite sons celebrates Fat Tuesday in his own inimitable style.
