Harrison Chastang is an evening host and news director for KPOO, one of the few independent African-American owned and operated non-commercial radio stations in the United States. As news director, Chastang works to see that the views and perspectives of people of color are properly represented on the airwaves, particularly in the area of news and public affairs. He has also reported extensively on stories concerning San Francisco, African-Americans and the new computer and multimedia technologies. His stories deal with the African-American and Afro-Latin connection, especially black Cubans, black Brazilians and African-Americans. Chastang attended California State University, Fullerton.
