“Black Renaissance” is the Bay Area’s longest running news/interview show that focuses on issues of concern to the African American community. Hosted by San Francisco based psychologist and author Dr. Brenda Wade, it is one of the few programs in the Bay Area specifically tailored to the needs and interests of the African American Community. In addition to highlighting authors and celebrities who are visiting the Bay Area, the program showcases upcoming local events. It also profiles those in the community who are doing great things, and making a difference. Topics addressed include housing, politics, education, health, and the arts. Former guests have included Oprah Winfrey, Danny Glover, Street Soldiers Founder Joe Marshall, the Reverend Cecil Williams, rapper Chuck D, filmmaker Spike Lee, “The Color Purple Stars” Jeannette Bayardelle, Stephanie St. James, Letoya London, actress Terri Vaughn, and many others.

A Bay Area native, Dr. Brenda Wade is best known for her dynamic, love-centered approach to transformation. She appears weekly as “The Today’s Show’s” Relationship Contributor, and is regularly interviewed by multiple news channels on various health issues. She has offered her expertise on such popular, national day-time talk programs such as “Oprah,” “Good Morning America,” and “Jenny Jones.” She also produced and hosted the national PBS Special Power Choices and nationally-syndicated television program “Can This Marriage Be Saved?” She is the author of several books including Power Choices: 7 Signposts on Your Journey to Wholeness, Joy, Love and Peace; Love Lessons; and What Mama Couldn’t Tell Us About Love. She is a regular contributor for Essence Magazine. In addition, she has recently contributed to such publications as Ebony Magazine, Ladies Home Journal, Jet Magazine, Heart & Soul, and Match.com.
