Since 1997, Chip Johnson has written a twice-weekly column for the San Francisco Chronicle.
A graduate of San Francisco State University, Johnson has worked as a staff writer for the Albuquerque Tribune, the Oakland Tribune, the Los Angeles Times and St. Paul Pioneer Press.
In 2008 his he was honored by the Bay Area Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists for his dogged persistence in uncovering corruption, negligence and gross mismanagement in Oakland city government. With family and friends spread across the city, he is a proud Oakland resident.
