Y’Anad Burrell

’Anad is a native San Franciscan who is excited about a life of ‘paying it forward’. Diversity & Inclusion has been a part of her DNA since her teenage years, whether it was art, technology or fashion, as celebrating the myriad of cultures, differences and similarities in her surroundings is natural. Y’Anad is the Founder of both Glass House Communications, a public relations firm, and Fashion On The Square, the largest and longest running charity runway show on the West Coast. As a Commissioner with the Arts & Culture Commission of Contra Costa County, Y’Anad leads the Diversity & Inclusion Initiative and those same efforts continue in her capacity as the Board Vice President/Diversity & Inclusion with the Assoc. of Fundraising Professionals (Golden Gate Chapter) and as the President-Elect of the Public Relations Society of America (SF Chapter). Y’Anad’s passion for communications extends to teaching as the Strategic Communications Instructor at SFSU and she very much enjoys the Board Governance training she has done for several years. As an Advisory Council Member with MoAD Vanguard (Museum of the African Diaspora), her desire is to infuse a ‘lifstyle of art’ throughout the Bay Area, especially within the schools, K-12. Y’Anad’s daily bread quote is “It’s A Lifestyle”. And go!
