SAN FRANCISCO / OAKLAND / SILICON VALLEY - From philanthropy to fashion and entertainment to business, theREGISTRY Bay Area strives to be a cultural catalyst for the Bay Area African American community—a resource that showcases and drives positive dialogue about and support for Black arts, events, culture and lifestyle. This is not a limited perspective however, as the REGISTRY also captures American American life as it exists within  and contributes to the broader global experience. With its mix of photography, top pick events and curated business listings, theREGISTRY shines a spotlight on Bay Area lifestyle from an African American perspective and brings it to center stage.

Here you’ll find the experiences of African Americans captured throughout the full spectrum of Bay Area life…eyes wide open, revealing a much broader and diverse lifestyle than one may assume or imagine. There’s no better media than photography and video to capture and document these experiences, perhaps redefining what “Black” in the Bay Area is…or is not.

theREGISTRY Bay Area also focuses on Blacks in technology. This under-the-radar group of forward thinking and cutting edge tech junkies doesn’t get enough attention in our opinion. We aim to change that. Soon we’ll cover arts, culture, technology and lifestyle. LA has Hollywood, NY has Wall Street, DC has The White House…and we have Silicon Valley.

This concept, a continuous, reliable, trusted online source of African American information and experiences is not new, but for some reason has been absent in the Bay Area for some time. Thankfully, others before us (hats off to David Ellington and NetNoir, John Hilton and CityFlight,) started on this journey years ago. It has now come full circle with a new face and new technology.

As a constant, theREGISTRY is a media channel that speaks first to the progressive, modern and sophisticated Bay Area African American consumer who demands the best in the arts, culture and life. It also will speak to a diverse audience of Bay Area residents and visitors that see, feel and understand African American culture to be a significant contributor to American culture. Enough said. On with the show.
